Albon

New Plymouth, Taranaki

Kyle Ramsay

Profile: E100

This standout structure is both a welcoming family home and a showpiece for Albon Building Taranaki. Its beachside location meant this character building needed a lasting, low maintenance cladding solution to the typical issues of coastal architecture. Nu-Wall’s E100 fit the bill, with clean lines and durability.

A functional statement home

The family dream home of renowned Albon Builders combines a striking geometric exterior with solid construction and open plan living. Previous experience installing Nu-Wall cladding made the decision easy for Gary, who is familiar with its low maintenance and clean aesthetics. In true modernist style, the backyard combines indoor and outdoor living seamlessly.

Architect Kyle Ramsay referred to iconic Mid-Century architect Harry Seidler’s work in designing this modernist home, which uses strong geometric shapes in its construction. This aesthetic is enhanced by the linear colour contrast of the black framing with white cladding that characterises the home’s exterior.

Nu-Wall’s E100 was the profile of choice for this building, because of its strong vertical lines that further highlight the shapes of the building. Powdercoated aluminium offers great durability and low maintenance, which is an important feature for a beachside home on the wild West Coast.

Stonework and wood accents reinforce the home’s connection with its environment. This combination of strong, clean lines with natural materials enhances the home’s unique character. Combining modernism, functionality and low maintenance, this showpiece home is everything the Albon family dreamed of!

Gary and Kylie Albon, Builders and homeowners:

We chose Nu-Wall for the cladding on our home because the strong vertical lines of the E100 profile allowed us to achieve the modernist look that we love. Nothing else compared to its low maintenance either, which is especially important in our beachside location. The 100 year product guarantee was a great bonus, too.
